From the President – September 2025
September has been a demanding month for all of us, with crews and vendors still running at full speed as summer projects wind down and preparations for fall work ramp up. With that reality in mind, we decided to cancel our planned September lunch training on company safety programs. Rather than add one more commitment during this hectic stretch, we felt it was best to give everyone a chance to catch their breath and regroup.
That said, the busyness of this season is exactly why it’s so valuable to carve out a couple of hours—even just one day—to step away from the daily whirlwind. Those small pauses create the space to work on your business, not just in it, which is essential for long-term growth.
Looking ahead, I’m excited for our October lunch training, which will focus on a topic that sets the tone for the year ahead: goal setting. As business owners, managers, and professionals, we know that meaningful growth doesn’t happen by accident—it comes from clarity, focus, and consistent systems.
During this session, we’ll share best practices, real-world examples, and practical steps for creating goals that move your business forward. Whether you’re running a one-person operation, managing a larger organization, or somewhere in between, the principles are the same: clear vision, measurable benchmarks, and accountability structures.
I look forward to seeing many of you in October as we take this important step together toward a strong 2026.
See you there.

Making Unlicensed Contractors Disappear
Are you a landscape contractor who has lost jobs to:
Individuals who contract for landscape and other construction work without a license?
… or …
Competitors who do not pay workers’ compensation insurance, disability insurance, unemployment insurance, federal and state employment taxes, or prevailing wages?
Unlicensed contractors hurt everyone: consumers, the economy and even the people who work on their crews. Help stamp out unlicensed contractors!
